♣♥ About Death ♣♥

♣♥ We do not know the day of our death. That is true whether we’re young or old. We never know when our thread of life is going to be broken.

♣♥ If anything, life teaches us that nothing in this world can satisfy us fully, for even if we gained the whole world we would eventually lose it. If this is true, then it would mean that life is meaningless or it’s just for naught.

♣♥ No, it is not. As i have understood it, death is a giver of meaning.

♣♥ As we struggle with the mystery of our death, we will discover the meaning of our life. Because only when we know that we are dying, we start to truly do our living.

♣♥ But still, many of us ignore death, as if, we fear death or don’t believe in its existence. That is why, many of us can not live fully. We are either too afraid of understanding death or there is no one to die for.

♣♥ Hmmm..

♣♥ We live in a death-denying culture where death is viewed as something that strikes us down without any rhyme of reason and without our having any kind of control over it whatsoever.

♣♥ Yet, most of us will, in fact, die. And surely, we choose when, where and how to die. How we live our lives is a sign of how we are about to die. For example:

♣♥ You’re a chain smoker --- of course, your death will probably have something to do with your lungs or health or something. If you’re a speed driver.. well... you know what i mean.

♣♥ Our lifestyle, habits and spiritual inclination affects the way we live and the way we die...

♣♥ We are all aware that our existence is limited, and we are looking for its meaning... I mean, i do.. and i assume that you do too... In our search for meaning, we might understand that we live to learn from this world.

♣♥ And we learn best when we know that we have a deadline. Meaning, we know that there is a limitation. Learning how to live and learning how to die go together. In order to learn how to live, we have to come to terms with our own death, because our death is the only thing that will remind us of the limitedness of our existence. Thus we become more conscious of the brevity
of our time in order to make full us of it.
